Review: The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**K

The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**K is tiny book comparing to all other books in this genre, yet don’t let this tininess fool you! Its concept is simple, yet so deep & powerful that I read it twice only to find it more enjoyable each time.
It’s basically talking about what you should give a F, and what you should not, because after all as the author, Mark Manson puts it, We have only so many F**Ks to give!, and he can’t be more right.

There are 4 main things that I have learned and loved within this must-read piece of text,

  1. Why should I not care about so many things, like what others think of me and the like, I read about this before, even tried to use it in my life and had done so to some extent, but I couldn’t go full on it, but after reading this book, once I knew WHY I should not care I find it much more easier to stay on track and fully execute this idea in my day to day life.
  2. Next was the importance of measuring the right metrics. Mark does an awesome job explaining why some metrics that we measure ourselves against are plain & simple wrong. We’re either using metrics that are not in our control, or we choose the ones that matter not to us, but to the people around us, That’s why we’re not satisfied with our blessings, that’s why we’re not enjoying our life and present moment but get drowned in What Ifs and the euphoria of illusional glories we never had.
  3. Thee concept taking 100% complete responsibility for each and every situation in our life, made my life so much easier by eliminating the illusionary role of others in my life situations. By understanding this simple fact I no longer pointed finger at anyone and never looked to find who to blame ever again. It just completely resonated with my soul.
  4. And the last one is the concept of uncertainty, I used to expect a high degree of predictability and certainty from life, I wanted everything to go according to my plans, even tried to outsmart the life by making tens of plans for different possible situations, but it never went on like I wanted to… And it shouldn’t. After reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**K I’m much more at peace with life and with myself, I try to observe the flow of life without the urge to be in control of everything, I manage my time and energy the way I want to (By managing the Fs I give or don’t give.), and I’m living more in the present moment compared to before reading this fantastic book.

Would I recommend it? You bet I do!
Would I read it again? For sure.
I give 10 out of 10 to this fantastic book. You may buy this book here .
